Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, issued a stern warning on Monday, stating that any foreign military force specifically the US attempting to enter the Strait of Hormuz will face direct attack.
The General’s message follows US President Donald Trump’s announcement of "Project Freedom," a mission aimed at escorting neutral foreign vessels out of the strategic waterway starting Monday.
"Severe and Regret-Inducing Response"
General Abdollahi reaffirmed that Iran maintains absolute control over the Strait of Hormuz. He insisted that all commercial vessels and oil tankers must coordinate their passage with the Iranian Armed Forces to ensure their safety.
“The Iranian nation and its powerful Armed Forces have proven they will respond in a severe and regret-inducing manner to any act of aggression,” the General stated. He described the US military’s actions as “piracy” and warned that any move to disrupt the current status quo would only further jeopardize regional security.
Escalation of Conflict
The tension in the region has reached a boiling point following the unprovoked war of aggression launched by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28. That conflict led to the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader and several top military officials.
In retaliation, Iran has Launched 100 waves of missile and drone strikes over a 40-day period. Closed the Strait of Hormuz to enemy vessels and their allies. Implemented strict permission requirements for all vessels entering the waterway.
US Defies Iranian Blockade
Despite Tehran’s warnings, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed it would begin supporting merchant vessels seeking "free transit" through the strait on Monday. President Trump claimed the initiative was launched at the request of several nations whose ships are currently stranded due to the Iranian blockade.
Military experts warn that if the US Navy attempts to force passage for these vessels without Iranian coordination, a direct military confrontation in the Persian Gulf may be inevitable.
