


The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-10) arrested two suspects and recovered a cache of sophisticated foreign firearms ammunition and locally made weapons during separate raids in Rajbari Sadar and Goalanda upazilas.
RAB-10 Commander and Additional DIG Mohammad Asaduzzaman confirmed the arrests during a press briefing at the Media Center on Thursday afternoon.
Acting on an intelligence tip-off RAB forces conducted the first raid in the Mollah Bari area of Rajbari Sadar at 6:45 PM on Wednesday. During the operation officers arrested Md. Momin Mollah of Mahishkhola village. Authorities seized a foreign-made sub-machine gun two magazines and 28 rounds of live ammunition from his possession.
In a subsequent raid at 10:15 PM near the Jalil Member bridge in Goalanda upazila’s Chhota Bhakla Union RAB arrested a second suspect. From this location officers recovered a foreign pistol one magazine six rounds of ammunition several locally made weapons and Tk 15,300 in cash.
Legal proceedings against the accused are currently underway at the Rajbari Sadar and Goalanda Ghat police stations. Concluding the briefing Additional DIG Asaduzzaman reaffirmed that RAB will continue its strict operations to suppress regional crime and eradicate drug networks.
