Police recovered the sack-clad body of a college student from a ditch in Rajbari Sadar Upazila on Thursday evening four days after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Chowdhury Fuad Hasan Rohan (21) a HSC student at Rajbari Government Technical School and College. He was the grandson of former Dadshi Union Chairman and BNP leader Md. Rokonuddin Chowdhury and the cousin of District Chhatra Dal Convener Ariful Islam Roman.
Rohan went missing on Monday afternoon after leaving his home. Acting on a tip-off from local residents, police retrieved his body from a mahogany orchard in Raghunathpur village under Dadshi Union.
Senior law enforcement officers including Rajbari Superintendent of Police Mir Monir Hossain inspected the spot. Uttam Kumar Ghosh, Officer-in-Charge of Rajbari Sadar Police Station confirmed that an investigation has been launched to identify the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the murder.
