

The government has promoted 11 general managers (GMs) of state-owned commercial and specialised banks and financial institutions to the posts of deputy managing director (DMD). The promoted officials have also been posted to different banks and financial institutions.
The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance issued a notification in this regard on Thursday (October 8).
According to the notification, Mohammad Shahedur Rahman has been promoted to DMD of Rupali Bank PLC and retained at the same bank. Mohammad Fazlul Karim has also been promoted to DMD of Agrani Bank PLC and posted to the same institution.
Abu Sayeed Md Rowshanul Haque has been promoted to DMD of Bangladesh Krishi Bank and retained there, while Md Abdul Matin has been promoted to DMD of Janata Bank PLC and posted to the same bank.
Ashrafuzzaman Khan has been transferred from Bangladesh Krishi Bank and posted as DMD of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank. Md Iqbal Hossain Khan has been transferred from Rupali Bank to Janata Bank as DMD.
Shikder Faruk A Azam has been promoted to DMD of Rupali Bank and retained at the same bank. Shahinur Sultana has been transferred from Agrani Bank and posted as DMD of Bangladesh Development Bank PLC.
Md Hasan Imam has been transferred from BASIC Bank PLC and posted as DMD of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB).
Meanwhile, Md Zaman Molla and Md Safayet Hossain Patwary have been promoted to DMDs of Sonali Bank PLC and posted to the same bank.
The notification said the service of the promoted officials would be governed by the Policy on Nomination, Appointment, Promotion and Posting of Managing Directors, Deputy Managing Directors and General Managers of State-Owned Commercial Banks, Specialised Banks and Financial Institutions, 2026.
Relevant policies and notifications issued by the government from time to time will also apply to their service.
