A seminar was held on Monday at the Upazila Parishad conference room in Porsha, Naogaon to address superstition, blind faith and medical quackery. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam presided over the meeting which brought together over a hundred local traditional healers (kabiraj), traditional exorcists (ojha) and village police officers.

UNO Rakibul Islam warned that fraudulent practices under the guise of medical treatment will not be tolerated in the upazila. He emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against violators. Highlighting the administration's commitment to public health and safety alongside maintaining law and order, he called for a broader social movement and a shift in community mindset to eradicate these practices.

Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Kamal Uddin also attended the event also urging local stakeholders to collaborate in protecting public well-being.
