


The Upazila administration in Porsha, Naogaon distributed financial assistance cheques to 11 sick and destitute individuals on Sunday. Funded by the Social Welfare Council, each recipient received Tk 10,000 to help alleviate their financial hardships.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam presided over the distribution ceremony. Local leaders, including Upazila BNP General Secretary Sadequl Islam and former Vice President Taufiqur Rahman Chowdhury attended the event alongside officials from various government departments.
During the ceremony, speakers emphasized the administration's ongoing commitment to improving the living standards of marginalized communities also expressing hope that such welfare initiatives will continue.
Following the distribution, officials held a strategic meeting with BADC and BCIC dealers to address the ongoing fertilizer crisis in the upazila with aiming to ensure a steady supply for local farmers.
In a separate development focused on improving local healthcare, a modern cell counter machine was installed at the Porsha Upazila Health Complex. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO) Dr. Atiqur Rahman officially inaugurated the equipment on Sunday morning.
The new machinery is expected to significantly enhance diagnostic services and ensure better healthcare outcomes for patients in the area.
