EC Announces Presidential Election Schedule

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the presidential election and voting set to take place on August 20 in the session room of the National Parliament House.

EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed announced the schedule on Thursday. Candidates can submit nomination papers to the Chief Election Commissioner's or Election Officer's office between 10 am and 4 pm on August 13. Scrutiny of nomination papers will begin at 10 am on August 16, and candidates will have until 4 pm on August 18 to withdraw their candidacy if they choose.

Voting will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on August 20 at the National Parliament House.

Akhtar Ahmed said the voter list for the presidential election has already been finalized. Following the schedule announcement, the Election Commission is now taking necessary administrative and logistical steps to ensure the election is conducted smoothly and peacefully.
