


To support local students and low-income households authorities in Paikgachha upazila distributed bicycles commercial vans and sewing machines on Thursday morning.
The welfare initiative was financed through the fourth installment of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) allocation for the 2025-26 fiscal year aiming to facilitate education and create self-employment opportunities at the grassroots level.
Khulna-6 Member of Parliament Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, attended the ceremony at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom as the chief guest. During the event, he formally handed over bicycles to 20 students sewing machines to 20 underprivileged women, and new vans to five local drivers.
The distribution ceremony was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury. Several government officials and community leaders attended as special guests including Senior Fisheries Officer Saikat Mallick Upazila Engineer Shafin Shoaib, and Public Health Engineering Assistant Engineer Prashant Kumar Pal.
Local political representatives including Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Maulana Altaf Hossain Assistant Professor Abdul Momin Sana Advocate Mortaza Zaman Alamgir Rulu and Municipal Jamaat Ameer Dr. Asadul Haque were also present alongside local journalists and residents.
