The United States carried out a major attack on an Iranian petrochemical facility. In response, Tehran said it would target at least eight industrial sites in Gulf countries. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said those facilities had allegedly supported U.S. forces.
On Sunday (April 5), Al Jazeera reported a fire at the Boruj Petrochemical Plant in the United Arab Emirates.
Abu Dhabi authorities say several fires broke out at the Boruj plant after debris fell from the sky. Officials believe this happened when a missile or drone was intercepted and shot down. Emergency teams are now working to control the fires.
“The plant’s operations have been suspended until the damage is assessed,” the Abu Dhabi Media Office said. No casualties have been reported so far.
According to Gulf News, Abu Dhabi emergency agencies and firefighters are coordinating efforts to put out multiple fires caused by falling debris. Authorities urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid sharing rumors or unverified reports.
Earlier Sunday, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority of the emirate said its air defense systems successfully intercepted a missile threat believed to have originated from Iran. Residents were advised to stay in safe areas and follow official government warnings.
