A mysterious theft occurred at the Paikgachha Upazila Health Complex on Saturday night. Unidentified individuals entered the office of the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO), Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed, by cutting through window grills.

The intruders ransacked official documents and stole critical security equipment, including the CCTV monitor, DVR, and router.

Dr. Zahirul Islam, a consultant at the hospital, discovered the break-in on Sunday morning. "I found the office door locked from the inside. Upon forced entry, I saw the room in disarray and the window grill severed," he stated.

While no medical supplies or other valuables were reported missing, the targeted theft of surveillance equipment has led local observers to believe the act was premeditated. Dr. Ahmed, who has recently been recognized for improving local healthcare services, noted that her desk drawers and cupboards were searched.

"We have informed the police and higher authorities. An internal investigation committee has also been formed," Dr. Ahmed said.

Police Station OC (Operation) Zulfiqar Ali confirmed that an on-site inspection has been conducted and an active investigation is ongoing. Local residents have called for increased night security to protect the facility.
