


Police have arrested Nayan Fakir, also known as Ashik, a 26-year-old hired operative allegedly involved in the murder of Jubo Dal leader Salman Khandaker in Lohagara, Narail.
Ashik, the son of Karim Fakir from Gandab village in Kashipur Union, was apprehended by a team from Lohagara Police Station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rahman confirmed the arrest, stating that the operation was carried out on Saturday (March 4) based on a tip-off. The raid, led by Sub-Inspector Tarak Biswas, took place in the Battala area of Gandab village.
Following his arrest, Ashik was produced before a Narail court on Sunday (March 5) morning. Salman Khandaker, a local leader of the Jubo Dal (the youth wing of the BNP), was murdered in Noagram Union, a case that has drawn significant local attention.
