


The Narail District Detective Branch (DB) police arrested a man on charges of drug trafficking in Lohagara upazila on Saturday. The arrestee, identified as Abdullah Al Mamun (29), is the son of Rafiqul Islam from Mangalahata village. Police sources stated that Mamun has been involved in the illegal drug trade for a significant period.
Acting on a tip-off, a DB team led by SI Amit Biswas and SI Titu Ali conducted a raid near the Laxmipasha bus stand on the Dhaka-Benapole Highway. Officers apprehended Mamun in front of the Palash Hotel and recovered 100 pieces of Yaba tablets from his possession.
A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act at Lohagara Police Station.
Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rahman confirmed the arrest, adding that the accused was produced before a court and sent to jail on Sunday morning.
