


The critically acclaimed Bangladeshi film, "Noya Manush," directed by Sohel Rana Boyati, has been officially selected for the Kashmir World Film Festival.
The film, which depicts the challenging lives of people residing on the remote river islands (chars) of Bangladesh, was originally released in local theatres on December 6 last year and garnered widespread praise.
The film will be featured in the international selections of the fifth edition of the Kashmir World Film Festival.
The festival is taking place in Srinagar, the largest city in Jammu and Kashmir, India.
The seven-day event is scheduled to run from November 1 to 7. "Noya Manush" will be showcased alongside films from countries including Egypt, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and India.
The film is based on the novel "Bedonar Baluchore" by A M M Hasanuzzaman, who also commented on the film's success. The screenplay and dialogues were penned by renowned playwright Masum Reza.
Expressing his delight over the international recognition, writer and actor A M M Hasanuzzaman highlighted the film's broader impact: "By participating in various international festivals, 'Noya Manush' is raising awareness against religious fanaticism, spreading the message of peace, and highlighting the true essence of faith."
The ensemble cast features prominent names such as Rawnak Hasan, Mousumi Hamid, Ashish Khandakar, and Jhuna Chowdhury, among others.
