A preparatory meeting was held in Muksudpur Upazila of Gopalganj to mark the celebration of Bengali New Year 1433. The meeting took place on Thursday (April 2) at 11:00 AM in the Upazila Parishad conference room, organized by the Upazila administration.

The meeting was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahmud Ashik Kabir. Officials from various government departments, political leaders, and local journalists attended the meeting and discussed overall preparations for the New Year celebration.

Among those present were upazila BNP President Abdus Salam Khan and General Secretary Tarikul Islam Raju, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Raihan Islam Shovon, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Jahangir Alam, and Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Muksudpur Police Station Matiar Molla. Moreover, the Upazila Secondary Education Officer and Youth Development Officer Syed Uddin Ahmed, along with other officials from relevant departments, were in attendance.

Also present were Deputy General Manager of the Muksudpur Zonal Office of Gopalganj Palli Bidyut Samity, Md. Tushar Ahmed; Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mahfuza Begum; Upazila Primary Education Officer M. A. Nayeem; Upazila Women Affairs Officer Laila Rahman; and Upazila Information Officer Shatabdi Biswas.

Representatives from political and social organizations included Municipal BNP General Secretary Mashiur Rahman Mintu, President of Muksudpur Press Club Md. Chiru Mia and its General Secretary Kazi Md. Wahidul Islam, President of Muksudpur Reporters Unity Tarikul Islam, and President of Muksudpur Reporters Forum Saeed Ahmed Mallik Tutul, among others.

According to decisions taken at the meeting, a colorful rally will be brought out from the upazila Parishad premises at 7:30 AM on April 14 (Pohela Boishakh). Following the rally, a discussion meeting will be held at the same venue, along with cultural programs and a Boishakhi fair throughout the day.

To ensure a smooth, festive, and secure celebration, necessary instructions were given to the concerned departments regarding law and order, healthcare services, uninterrupted electricity supply, and overall cleanliness.

The upazila administration expressed hope that with the participation of all, the Bengali New Year celebration will be observed in a joyful and successful manner.
