Md. Ismail Zabihullah, Advisor to the Ministry of Public Administration, stated on Thursday that Bangladesh has sufficient fuel oil reserves and there is no cause for public alarm. Speaking in Faridpur, he emphasized that despite a global energy crisis, the government remains committed to keeping prices stable.
"Our government is people-friendly. We have not increased oil prices, and there will be no price hike in April," the Advisor confirmed. He noted that substantial stocks are currently held in reserves and through the supply pipeline.
The Advisor warned that the local administration is monitoring fuel pumps closely to prevent any hoarding or artificial shortages. "Instructions have been issued to ensure no one creates a crisis to harass the public. Any such attempt will be suppressed with an iron hand," he said, adding that the government will continue providing subsidies to protect consumers.
Mr. Zabiullah made these remarks while inaugurating a canal excavation project in the Sharifabad area of Bhanga Upazila. He highlighted that such projects are vital for the country’s "green development" but issued a stern warning to those involved.
"If anyone—regardless of their position—is found guilty of irregularities or corruption in this excavation program, they will face immediate legal action. No concessions will be given," he asserted. Event Details
