


The Energy and Mineral Resources Department confirmed on Thursday that Bangladesh has a stock of 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of fuel oil, ensuring a stable domestic supply.
As of April 2, the country’s total fuel oil reserves stand at 255,018 metric tonnes. Joint Secretary Monir Hossain Chowdhury shared these figures during a press briefing at the Secretariat.
According to the Department, diesel makes up the largest portion of the stock at 122,660 metric tonnes. This volume covers approximately 63% of the total national requirement, securing uninterrupted supply for the agriculture, transport, and industrial sectors.
Octane: 9,210 metric tonnes, Petrol: 12,194 metric tonnes, Jet Fuel: 41,876 metric tonnes, Furnace Oil: 58,736 metric tonnes, Kerosene: 9,378 metric tonnes, Marine Fuel: 1,153 metric tonnes
Joint Secretary Chowdhury assured that the current reserves are sufficient to meet the nation's immediate energy demands without disruption.
