In a move that has sent shockwaves through the K-pop industry, Danielle Marsh has officially become the first member to exit the global sensation NewJeans.
The announcement came on Monday from Ador, a subsidiary of Hybe, confirming the immediate termination of her exclusive contract.
The departure is far from amicable, as Ador simultaneously announced plans to file a lawsuit against Danielle. The agency seeks contractual penalties and damages, citing delays in resolution processes allegedly caused by her family members.
While the specific financial claim has not been made public, Ador confirmed it will be calculated based on the standard penalty formulas stipulated in her debut contract.
Since her debut in 2022, the Korean-Australian singer has been a cornerstone of NewJeans’ international success. Leveraging her fluent English, Danielle frequently fronted the group's overseas promotions and global interviews.
She currently serves as a global ambassador for elite luxury houses, including Celine, Burberry, YSL Beauty, and OMEGA. Known for her clear, youthful vocals and "emotional anchor" status, her presence was vital to the group's signature sound.
As of Monday, Danielle is no longer associated with NewJeans. While her former agency pursues legal action, Danielle has not yet released a personal statement regarding her future career path or the allegations made by Ador.
