


Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.), Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Agriculture, said that no one will be able to create chaos in the elections, with everyone's cooperation, the elections will be held peacefully. The number of forces has been increased for peaceful elections.
He said these things in response to questions from journalists after the training closing parade of the 104th recruit batch of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Baitul Izz in Satkania on Wednesday (January 14) morning. He said that 8 lakh 97 thousand 117 members of the law enforcement forces will be on duty in the 13th National Parliament elections.
37 thousand 453 members from the BGB will be on duty in the elections in 61 districts. Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) inspected and greeted the oath-taking and training-concluding parade of the new soldiers at the Bir Uttam Mujibur Rahman Parade Ground of the traditional training institution of the Border Guard Training Center and College (BGTC&C) as the chief guest.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani, BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui and the Commandant of BGTC&C were present at the time.
The oath-taking and training-concluding parade of the new soldiers officially began in the morning with the armed salute given to the Home and Agriculture Advisor. A record 3,000 new members in the history of the BGB took a solemn oath to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the motherland. After receiving the salute at the training closing parade, the advisor delivered various directional speeches to the new soldiers.
The advisor said that this 230-year-old traditional force has become a well-organized, smart, disciplined and professional patriotic force over time. As the 'watchful guard of the border', the BGB has been able to protect the integrity of the motherland and provide border security by protecting the 4,427-kilometer-long border of the country, as well as preventing smuggling, preventing drugs and human trafficking, suppressing any cross-border crime, providing assistance to the civil administration in maintaining internal law and order in the country, and dealing with disasters, and has been able to earn the trust of the countrymen by performing its duties with great efficiency and professionalism.
The advisor said to the new soldiers that discipline is the ornament of a soldier's life. A real soldier is one who never backs down from following orders and duties. Honesty, intelligence, reliability, loyalty, enthusiasm and enthusiasm are the criteria for the discipline and professional skills of a force. He expressed hope that the new soldiers will reflect these qualities and uphold the tradition of the force. He urged the new soldiers to be inspired and motivated by the four basic principles of BGB - morale, brotherhood, discipline and efficiency, and to fulfill the duties assigned to the BGB in a disciplined manner and to remain vigilant in fulfilling the great responsibility of protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
The advisor congratulated Recruit No. 155 Al Imran for securing the first place as the best new soldier in all subjects in the 104th Recruit Batch. He also congratulated Bust No. 2769 Shopikul Islam (Male) and Bust No. 1515 Recruit Lubna Khatun (Female) for securing first place in physical excellence and Bust No. 1347 Recruit Shafiqur Rahman Tamim (Male) and Bust No. 1531 Recruit Nahida Akhtar (Female) for becoming the best firer.
The advisor said that BGTC&C has been training BGB recruits for the past 44 years and developing them as 'alert border guards'. Since independence, it has successfully trained 72 batches. Although the capacity of this training institution is 700-1000 people, basic training has been provided to 3023 recruits (male 2950, female 73) in the 104th recruit batch. This challenging training has been completed by establishing the necessary infrastructure and management under the guidance of the current interim government and under the direct supervision of the BGB Headquarters.
BGTC&C has created history in independent Bangladesh by training more than 3,000 recruits at a time. The parade was declared over by giving an armed salute to the advisor by a smart group of new soldiers. At the end, a trick drill was performed by the trained members of BGB and a band display was performed by the well-equipped band of BGB.
Senior BGB officers, military and civilian senior officers of Dhaka, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar regions, local administration officials and dignitaries were present at the event.
