In a massive show of strength, BNP candidate Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury held a public rally at the Bheramara Government Model High School ground on Sunday. Speakers at the event framed the upcoming February 12 national election as a historic opportunity to reclaim citizens' voting rights.
The rally was chaired by Upazila BNP Convener Adv. Mohd. Touhidul Islam Alam. Former MP and BNP National Executive Committee member Professor Shahidul Islam attended as the chief guest, while Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury, the party’s nominated candidate for Kushtia-2 (Bheramara-Mirpur), was the keynote speaker.
Addressing the crowd, Professor Shahidul Islam stated that the people of Bangladesh have been deprived of their right to vote for over 15 years. "This election is more than just a vote; it is a movement to restore the people's mandate," he said, noting the "unprecedented response" from local voters after 17 years of political struggle.
Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury urged supporters to unite under the 'Sheaf of Rice' (Dhaner Sheesh) symbol to implement the party's 31-point state reform program announced by Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The event was also attended by Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Secretary General Ahsan Habib Lincoln and several central and district-level BNP leaders, signaling strong alliance coordination in the constituency.
