A new 9-member executive committee has been approved for the Chalanbil Journalists Union, with Anwar Hossain Aliraj and Akhtar Hossain Apurba taking the lead as President and General Secretary, respectively.
The committee, approved by the Singra Upazila Social Service Office, will serve a two-year term ending on February 1, 2028. Anwar Hossain Aliraj represents the Daily Inqilab, while Akhtar Hossain Apurba is the correspondent for Daily Jaijaidin.
Singra Upazila Social Service Officer Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the appointment of the following office bearers, Vice President: Mizanur Rahman (Daily Bangladesh Bulletin), Organizing Secretary: Ashraful Islam Sumon (Daily Chandni Bazar), Information & Research Secretary: Aminul Haque (Daily Barbela), Office Secretary: Mehedi Hasan (Daily Journal Asia), Treasurer: Mahabur Hossain (Daily Swadesh Pratidin), Executive Members: Nazmus Sayadat Ripon (Daily Swadhin Bangla) and Monwarul Islam (Daily Bangla Voice).
The newly elected leaders expressed their gratitude to the Social Service Department and pledged to work for the welfare and professional development of journalists in the Chalanbil region.
