Advocate Md. Firoz Haider Lavlu, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominee for the Lalmonirhat-2 constituency, has announced a 13-point election manifesto aimed at regional development and administrative reform.
Representing the 11-party electoral alliance, Lavlu presented his vision during a press conference at the Kaliganj Press Club on Sunday. He pledged to build a discrimination-free "model town" by upholding the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War and the 2024 July Revolution.
A central pillar of his manifesto is a "zero-tolerance" policy against corruption, promising to ensure transparency and accountability within the local administration.
Addressing the region's most pressing environmental issue, Lavlu committed to the implementation of the 'Teesta Master Plan.' His proposal includes river dredging and the construction of permanent dams to protect residents from the devastating effects of Teesta River erosion.
The press conference was attended by local political leaders and media representatives, where Lavlu called on voters to support his roadmap for a modern and equitable Lalmonirhat.
