A human chain was held in protest of the murder of Mizanur Rahman Mizan, a businessman and leader of the Swechchasebak Dal from Borochapa Bazar in Monohardi Upazila, Narsingdi. Protesters demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the killing and exemplary punishment.
The human chain was organized on Friday morning in Borochapa Bazar by the victim’s family and local residents.
Speakers at the human chain alleged that Mizanur Rahman Mizan was brutally murdered in broad daylight by Shahid alias Pinkyr Bap and his son Jiban. They expressed anger that even after a week of the incident, the accused have not been arrested yet.
The speakers said that those involved in the murder must be arrested quickly and brought under the law to ensure exemplary punishment. They also warned that stricter programs would be announced if the demand is not met.
Present at the human chain were members of the victim’s family, UP Member Mamunur Rashid, Hafez Shafiqul Islam Rajib, BNP leader Rafiqul Islam Robi, Osman Dealer and Sabbir Ahmed Akash along with local businessmen, political leaders, representatives of various social and professional organizations and residents of the area.
