Russia and Ukraine accused each other of overnight strikes on Saturday that killed three people and injured 10 others across both countries the authorities said.

In Ukraine's capital, three people were killed and three injured after Russian strikes hit three locations in the Brovary district near Kyiv, said Tymur Tkachenko the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration. Falling debris damaged a private residential building, outbuildings and vehicles while a fire broke out at a non-residential building. "Rescuers and all necessary services are working on the ground. The elimination of the consequences is ongoing" Tkachenko said on Telegram.

In Kyiv city itself a fires broke out in two districts following an air raid alert the Mayor Vitali Klitschko said while Reuters witnesses reported hearing several powerful explosions shake the city centre.

Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed the Kyiv attack, saying its forces had targeted a military-industrial facility and a fuel depot. It also claimed its forces struck two dry cargo ships allegedly carrying weapons to Ukrainian ports near Odesa.

On the Russian side, five people were injured and a fire broke out at the Ilsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar region after falling drone debris the local authorities said. In Lipetsk region's Zadonsk city, two people were injured and four homes damaged in a drone crash, Governor Igor Artamonov said. An industrial facility in the Samara region was also hit by a Ukrainian drone attack according to Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.

Russia's Defense Ministry claimed it shot down 397 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory also annexed Crimea and the Sea of Azov. Independent verification of the claims remains difficult amid the ongoing war. Ukraine continues to face a shortage of air defence systems capable of intercepting Russian missiles.
