A human chain and protest march took place in Rajshahi to oppose the cancellation of the assistant teacher position for physical education in primary schools. The event commenced at Sahebbazar Zero Point in the city at approximately 11 am on Friday. Participants included teachers and students from various physical education colleges in Rajshahi.
During the human chain, teachers from different physical education colleges addressed the crowd, with the event chaired by Abdullah Al Mahmud Salam Biplob, Principal of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Physical Education College.
In his speech at the human chain, Abdullah Al Mahmud Salam Biplob stated, "In addition to students' physical exercise, music education is also crucial. Therefore, it is essential to restore the position of assistant teacher for physical education and music in primary schools."
He mentioned that they would wait for a few days until the notification is released. Meanwhile, they plan to submit signatures to the chief advisor through the Deputy Commissioner. He cautioned that if the positions are not restored during this period, a significant movement will be organized nationwide, and a program will be initiated to surround the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
Following the human chain, a protest march was conducted, which traversed various streets of the city.
