The incident took place in Charghat on the Rajshahi-Bagha highway at the Shishatola intersection around 5 pm on Friday, November 7.
The victims were identified as Shimul (33), son of Matin, from the 14 Matha area of Sholua union in Charghat; Shimul Akter Tuhin (34), son of Habibur Rahman, also from the same locality; and Maruf (18), son of Milon, from the same area. All three died at the scene.
According to Charghat Police Station OC Mizanur Rahman, the three individuals were returning home on a motorcycle after attending the BNP's National Revolution and Controversy Day program in Charghat. Upon reaching the Shishatola area, their motorcycle collided with a truck that was coming from the opposite direction, resulting in them being crushed under the truck's wheels and dying instantly.
The OC reported, "Following the accident, local residents quickly moved to clear the bodies of two victims from the road and placed them aside. Although traffic was halted temporarily, normalcy was restored shortly after. The bodies have been retrieved and are now in police custody. The families of the deceased may claim the bodies without the need for an autopsy if they wish."
