6-Year-Old Drowns in Laxmipur; Authorities Provide Tk 20,000 to Grieving Family

A six-year-old boy tragically drowned in a waterbody in Laxmipur Sadar Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased Md. Yunus was the son of Md. Kamal Hossain from the Chatkir Sanko area under Ward No. 5 of Bhabaniganj Union. His sudden death has cast a deep shadow of mourning over the locality.

Following the tragic incident, Laxmipur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kathoypru Marma visited the bereaved family on Wednesday morning. He expressed his deepest condolences and handed over Tk.20,000 as immediate financial assistance on behalf of the upazila administration.

During the visit the UNO assured the grieving family of the administration's continued support. Locals widely appreciated the prompt and compassionate response from the local government.

In light of the tragedy, concerned authorities have strongly urged parents and guardians to remain highly vigilant and keep a close eye on their children, especially near waterbodies to prevent such fatal accidents in the future.
