Starc Overtakes Bumrah to Top Test Bowling Rankings for the First Time

Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc has risen to No. 1 in the ICC Men's Test bowling rankings for the first time in his career after his outstanding performance against Bangladesh in Mackay.

Starc took 10 wickets in the second Test, recording figures of 6 for 12 and 4 for 39, as Australia defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs to level the series.

The performance lifted Starc two places to the top of the rankings, pushing India's Jasprit Bumrah down to second. New Zealand's Matt Henry slipped to third.

Australia captain Pat Cummins also climbed one place to fourth after taking 3 for 25 and 3 for 10 in Mackay. Meanwhile, spinner Nathan Lyon moved up two places into the top 10 after claiming three wickets in the second innings.

England's Ollie Robinson made one of the biggest gains, jumping 15 places to 11th after taking eight wickets on his Test comeback against Pakistan at Headingley. His England teammate Josh Tongue, who also took eight wickets, rose 16 places to 17th.

Sri Lanka's Asitha Fernando and Prabath Jayasuriya each climbed five places to 15th and 16th respectively after their performances against India in Galle. Fernando took six wickets, while Jayasuriya claimed seven.

England's Harry Brook remains at the top of the Test batting rankings after scoring 91 at Headingley.

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant made a major jump, rising six places to seventh after scoring 39 and 66 against Sri Lanka in Galle.

Meanwhile, Kamindu Mendis and Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped out of the top 10 following low scores in Galle.
