


Dr. Anuradha Bhadra, Director General (DG) of the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI), completed her first official visit to the Brackish Water Center in Paikgachha, Khulna, since assuming office.
Braving inclement weather, Dr. Bhadra inspected the center’s ongoing aquaculture research projects over two days, on July 10 and 11. Following her field inspections, the Director General held a comprehensive review meeting with the center's staff to evaluate overall research progress and address operational challenges.
During the session, she provided strategic guidance to the scientific team, emphasizing the need to elevate research standards and effectively implement future fisheries initiatives to support the region's coastal economy.
The two-day visit was coordinated by Dr. Azhar Ali, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Brackish Water Center. Key attendees included Senior Scientific Officers Dr. Golam Sazed Riar and Shafiqul Alam Rubel, alongside Scientific Officers Golam Mostafa, Masudur Rahman, Saima Sultana Sonia, Rajib Hossain, Falguni Biswas, and other center employees.
