


A discussion meeting and an awards ceremony honoring outstanding employees and institutions were held in Muksudpur, Gopalganj, to mark World Population Day 2026. Organized by the Upazila Family Planning Office, the event took place at 3:00 PM on Sunday (July 12) at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium. This year's theme was "Realizing the hopes and aspirations of youth to build a better tomorrow through today's commitment."
The event was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahmud Ashik Kabir and moderated by Mahmuda Akter, Assistant Family Welfare Visitor (FWV) of Gohala Union Health and Family Welfare Centre. The welcome address was delivered by Upazila Family Planning Officer Md. Humayun Kabir.
Among the speakers were Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Muksudpur Police Station Md. Matiyar Molla, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Jahangir Alam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md. Mizanur Rahman, Sub-Assistant Community Medical Officer Hasanuzzaman of Batikamari, Family Welfare Visitor Mukta Begum of Muksudpur Sadar Clinic, and Lilia Begum of Gobindapur 3/K Unit.
The program was attended by Upazila Social Services Officer Rakibul Hasan Shuvo, Upazila Youth Development Officer Sayad Uddin Ahmed, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Azizul Islam, President of Muksudpur Press Club Md. Shiru Mia, General Secretary Kazi Md. Ohidul Islam, along with heads of various government departments, officials and staff of the Family Planning Department, healthcare workers, and local journalists.
Speakers highlighted the significance of World Population Day, emphasizing effective population management, strengthening family planning services, protecting maternal and child health, and promoting the health and development of young people. They noted that the effective implementation of family planning programs is essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At the end of the program, crests and certificates were presented to outstanding employees and institutions in recognition of their contributions to family planning services.
