Former England captain David Beckham was seen celebrating joyfully at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium as England secured a dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway to book a place in the World Cup semifinals.
Beckham watched the intense quarterfinal encounter from the stands alongside his wife, Victoria and three of their children: Romeo, Cruz and Harper. Social media users and stadium cameras caught the couple enthusiastically singing the national anthem before kickoff. Fans warmly reacted to the rare sighting of Victoria at a football match calling them a "true power couple."
The match proved to be a thriller. Norway took an early lead through Andreas Schjelderup in the 36th minute. However England's Jude Bellingham equalized shortly before halftime.
With the score locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes Bellingham struck again three minutes into extra time sealing the 2-1 victory for the Three Lions.
The win held special meaning for Beckham, who earned 115 caps and captained the national side for six years. Prior to the match Inter Miami co-owner hosted Thomas Tuchel’s squad at his club's Florida Blue Training Center in Fort Lauderdale. England captain Harry Kane noted that Beckham’s visit provided a massive morale boost to the squad stating that the football legend regularly stays in touch to offer support.
With this crucial victory England moves on to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Argentina versus Switzerland match.
