Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with Bangladesh as the country battles severe monsoon floods and landslides.

In a message posted to his verified Facebook account on Sunday, July 12, President Muizzu extended condolences on behalf of his government and the Maldivian people. Addressing Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, he conveyed his sorrow over the loss of life and the widespread disruption caused by the ongoing natural disaster.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have tragically lost their loved ones and with all those whose livelihoods have been disrupted," Muizzu stated.

Emphasising the strong ties between the two nations, the President reaffirmed that the Maldives stands firmly beside Bangladesh during this challenging period. He concluded his message by wishing safety, strength, and a swift recovery to all affected communities across the country.
