During this operation, he imposed a fine of Tk 500 on Nazrul and initiated legal proceedings through a mobile court. UNO Rakibul Islam mentioned that he had previously issued a warning to him. Under the Wildlife Conservation and Safety Act-2012, it is illegal to catch, kill, hunt, buy, sell, transport, preserve, or consume guest or migratory birds, and such actions are subject to penalties. Breaching this law may result in imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of as much as Tk 1 lakh.
He further stated that at 8 am on Wednesday, he managed to rescue the 6 birds after receiving information that an individual had brought guest birds to a residence in Gopinatpur with the intent to sell them. At that moment, one bird was being sold to a buyer who was negotiating the price. He intervened and successfully recovered the birds.
A legal case has been registered regarding this incident, and a fine has been imposed. He warned that anyone who repeats such an offense could face imprisonment. Subsequently, he noted that the guest birds were released publicly along the banks of the Punarbhaba River.
Additionally, he inspected the benches being constructed for tourists along the Punarbhaba River, which are part of the TR project funded by the Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner, and provided necessary guidance.
