


A faction of the Bangladesh Jatiyata Dal Upazila BNP has expressed its opposition to the nomination of Lutfar Rahman Khan Azad, a former minister and freedom fighter, who serves as an advisor to the chairperson, for the Tangail-3 constituency.
During this protest, hundreds of supporters set tires ablaze at the College More Bijoy 7171 square along the Tangail Mymensingh regional highway, effectively blocking the road for an hour while chanting slogans against the nomination.
A discussion meeting took place at the bus house of BNP executive committee member Mainul Islam at 11 am on Tuesday, November 4.
The protest was attended by notable figures including Manjurul Haque Manju, the former vice-president of Tangail district BNP, Meherun Nahar Chowdhury Lucky, the former general secretary of Upazila Mohila Dal, Abu Bakar Siddique, the former joint secretary of Upazila BNP, Faruk Hossain Dhala, the former general secretary of Municipal BNP, and former student leader Shamim Mia.
Additionally, the gathering included Khurram Masud Siddique, the former convener of Upazila Jubo Dal, Md. Afzal Hossain, the former joint convener of Upazila Jubo Dal, Yasir Arafat Shaon, the joint convener of Upazila Jubo Dal, and Mostaq Ahmed Sagar, the former member secretary of Upazila Jubo Dal. Also present were Shahidul Islam Shahid, the former president of Municipal Jubo Dal, Hasanuzzaman Torun, the former president of Upazila Chhatra Dal, Murad Hasan Rubel, the former president of Municipal Chhatra Dal, along with various leaders and activists from Upazila BNP, Jubo Dal, Mohila Dal, Chhatra Dal, and their affiliated organizations.
