


A ceremony to award certificates to participants of training courses organized by the Research and Training Centre (RTC) took place at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU).
The event was held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, in the conference room of the Faculty of Agriculture. It was chaired by Professor Dr. Mamun Ur Rashid, Director of RTC, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam serving as the chief guest. The program was facilitated by Md. Belal Hossain, Deputy Registrar of RTC.
Certificates were awarded to the educators and student participants of two open courses: “Machine Learning for Innovation and Optimization in the Agri-Food Supply Chain” and “Intensive English Program (IEP).”
In his address, Professor Dr. Mamun Ur Rashid, who chaired the event, remarked, “The world is rapidly advancing with technology. The structure of the Machine Learning course is designed to empower our trainees to enhance their academic and research endeavors. Additionally, the language course will improve the communication and linguistic abilities of the students. We aspire to continue providing more skill-oriented courses in the future.”
As the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam emphasized, “The integration of machine learning and information technology in modernizing agricultural and food supply systems is essential. Training our students in these technologies will lead to a more sustainable, innovation-driven, and competitive future for agriculture.”
He further stated, “Utilizing machine learning for data-driven decision-making, production planning, supply chain management, and market analysis will unveil new opportunities for agricultural advancement. Incorporating artificial intelligence and data analytics at every stage—from production and storage to transportation and marketing—can significantly enhance our agricultural economy. The moment has arrived to adopt technology-driven innovation in agriculture.
Among others, Professor Dr. Md. Takibur Rahman, Course Coordinator; Professor Dr. Md. Ektiar Uddin, Registrar; Professor Dr. Md. Sujahangir Kabir Sarkar, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Student Affairs Advisor; Professor Badiuzzaman, Chairman of the Department of Language and Communication; Teacher Sultana Jahan, and Deputy Registrar (Public Relations and Publication) Muhammad Emadul Haque Prince, along with faculty members, students, and researchers from various departments, were present at the ceremony.
