Police have arrested Musa (55) from a mosque in Porsha, Naogaon, in a case against the Women and Children torture Act. On Friday, local people detained him and handed him over to the police in a case filed by Ruhul Amin's wife Fatema Begum of Srikla Notunpukur village of the upazila.

The arrested Imam is the son of the deceased A.S. Shukur of Gabirakudi village. According to the case sources, Musa is the Imam of Srikla Notunpukur Jame Mosque. Fatema's son Nur Mohammad (11) studies in class 1 at Srikla Afzalul Ulum Madrasa. Nur Mohammad went to Srikla Notunpukur Jame Mosque to offer prayers at around 8 pm on October 23.

When Nur Mohammad did not return home after prayers, his mother started searching for him. During the search, she went to the mosque and found her son's shoes and saw that there were no worshippers in the mosque and the lights were off. At that time, Fatima pushed open the door of the mosque and confirmed that Imam Musa had raped her son. Later, at one stage of the conversation, when the Imam tried to escape on a bicycle, the villagers gathered at the sound of Fatima's screams and arrested Imam Musa.

He was handed over to the police at night with good-moderate force. When Nur Mohammad was questioned about this, the Imam of the mosque confirmed that Musa had raped her inside the mosque. The matter was confirmed by Mintu Rahman, officer-in-charge of Porsha police station, and the arrested Imam was sent to jail on Friday.
