Six-Year-Old Child Drowns in Pond Naogaon District's Porsha

A six-year-old child tragically drowned after falling into a pond in Porsha Upazila of Naogaon district.

The deceased was identified as Mahim, son of Majerul Islam, residing in Purba Diara Para village under Nitpur Union.

According to local sources, the child was playing near the bank of a pond adjacent to the local upazila mosque near his home when he accidentally fell into the water.

Locals later noticed the child floating in the pond and alerted his family. Relatives rescued him and rushed him to the Porsha Upazila Health Complex, where the emergency department doctor, Dr. Nasima Sultana, declared him dead on arrival.

Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman confirmed the tragic incident.
