Dr. Sheikh Mohiuddin has resigned as Executive Director of the Ad-Din Foundation. The board of directors has appointed Professor Jamalunnessa to succeed him.
Tariqul Islam Mukul, Director of Company Affairs, confirmed the leadership change in a press release on Tuesday, June 16.
Professor Jamalunnessa recently took early retirement after teaching in Dhaka University’s Microbiology Department for over 25 years. The professor earned a first-class Master’s degree in Microbiology from Dhaka University in 1988, followed by a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Addressing the recent tragic death of a child at Ad-Din Medical College Hospital, the press release expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the foundation. Following a preliminary investigation, the hospital has taken disciplinary action against the employees involved for negligence of duty. The institution is also strengthening its supervisory systems and re-evaluating medical protocols to prevent future incidents.
To comply with government guidelines, the foundation is actively overhauling its infrastructure and management. Guided by three independent consultants, facility upgrades are currently underway to improve ventilation and oxygen supply. Additionally, a bakery previously operating above the corporate office has been permanently closed.
