The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) cleared illegal settlements and structures under the flyover between the Wasa and Bahaddarhat intersections on Monday (June 15).

Led by Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidya, CCC officials and law enforcement agencies carried out the joint eviction drive to reclaim government land, protect public spaces, and improve the city’s aesthetics.

Most occupants had already vacated the area before the drive began. Officials strictly warned those still present against encroaching on government property in the future.

"We will conduct these operations regularly to ensure government land and areas beneath vital city infrastructure remain free from illegal encroachment," Magistrate Sarvabidya stated.
