The Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) on Sunday evicted around 200 illegal shops that had been occupying roads and footpaths in the city's Sagarika area.
The mobile court drive, led by CCC Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidya, spanned from the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium to the Bitak Bazar section of Sagarika Road.
According to CCC sources, the operation completely cleared the illegal encroachments, restoring unobstructed movement for both pedestrians and vehicles.
Personnel from the Pahartali Police Station under the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) and relevant CCC departments assisted in the drive.
The CCC stated that similar enforcement campaigns will continue to keep city roads and sidewalks clear of encroachments and ensure public safety.
