To support the physical and mental development of local students, the Upazila Sports Association has distributed footballs to all 167 government primary schools in Paikgachha, Khulna.
The equipment was handed over to school heads and representatives during a ceremony at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on the afternoon of June 15.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Sports Association President Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury presided over the event. "Students must not be confined solely to their studies," he said. "They need sports for their physical and mental growth. We hope this initiative helps schools nurture young football talent at the grassroots level."
Other key attendees included Youth Development Officer Md. Abdul Latif, Upazila Education Officer Sanjay Debnath, Assistant Education Officers Sachindra Nath Biswas and Bhudhar Chandra Sana, and Sports Association member Jaminur Rahman Rana.
Welcoming the initiative, local teachers noted that equipping all primary schools simultaneously is a rare effort that will significantly boost the region's football culture.
