


Four more children have died from confirmed or suspected measles in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) announced the figures in a press release from its control room on Monday, June 15.
Of the four recent fatalities, one child had a confirmed case of measles, while the other three died displaying measles-like symptoms.
The country has faced a severe outbreak over the past three months. Between March 15 and June 15, a total of 656 children died—93 from confirmed measles and 563 from suspected infections.
During this same period, hospitals nationwide admitted 71,467 patients with suspected measles. However, the DGHS noted that 67,878 people have successfully recovered and been discharged.
