


To aid recovery from recent devastating floods the government has distributed free Ufshi Ropa and Aman paddy seeds to 7,000 affected farmers in Banshkhali upazila.
The Upazila Agricultural Extension Department organized the distribution program on Thursday afternoon at the local Agriculture Office. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Ruhol Amin presided over the event with Upazila Agriculture Officer Shyamal Chandra Sarkar delivering the welcome address.
Banshkhali Member of Parliament Principal Maulana Zahirul Islam attended as the chief guest alongside special guest Aminur Rahman Chowdhury former General Secretary of the Upazila BNP.
Addressing the farmers, MP Zahirul Islam emphasized the government’s commitment to agricultural recovery following the natural disaster.
"Banshkhali’s farmers have endured severe losses due to the recent terrible floods," the MP stated. "The current administration is agriculture-friendly and has stepped forward to provide free seeds to 7,000 affected farmers. The government will continue to stand by our agricultural community in the future."
This targeted assistance program aims to help marginal farmers offset their flood-induced losses and successfully cultivate the upcoming Aman crop season.
