


The newly constructed Municipal Truck Stand Jame Mosque in Mohanganj was officially inaugurated on Thursday. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Amena Khatun led the opening ceremony as the chief guest.
The event drew significant attendance from the local community including former Municipal Mayor Mahabubunbi Sheikh Upazila Sramik Union President Golam Kibria Shamim, General Secretary Barin Karnaen and various labor union workers.
During the ceremony speakers commended the collective effort behind the mosque's construction. They highlighted its intended role not just as a place of worship, but as a center for fostering social harmony and humanistic values.
Addressing the gathering Sramik Union President Golam Kibria Shamim noted the project's specific significance for local transport workers. "This Jame Mosque fulfills a long-held dream for the working class here," he said. "Beyond daily prayers, it will serve as a center for moral education and community unity. We ask for everyone's sincere cooperation to help maintain it."
The inauguration concluded with a special munajat (prayer) seeking peace prosperity and welfare for the nation and the global Muslim community.
