The Haor Express arrived at Mohanganj Railway Station more than four hours late on Friday morning, leaving thousands of Dhaka-bound passengers stranded and intensely frustrated due to a complete lack of communication from local railway officials.

The intercity train typically arrives at 4:00 AM and departs for Dhaka at 8:00 AM failed to appear on schedule. Concerned about a potential accident, anxious passengers rushed to the station master's office for updates. However the Station Master Md. Jajirul Islam was nowhere to be found. According to station staff and he was sleeping in an adjacent room also leaving his office completely unattended during the crisis.

Without any official announcements, passengers were left wandering the platform in uncertainty. Suman Mia arrived at the station at 2:00 AM with his family from Sunamganj and expressed severe frustration over the authorities' negligence. Another passenger, Sarath Babu noted that while technical delays are understandable also failing to inform waiting passengers is entirely unacceptable.

It was not until 8:15 AM that an on-duty railway employee Md. Riyad Hasan, finally informed the agitated crowd that a train engine breakdown at 1:00 AM had caused the massive schedule disruption.

The Mohanganj Haor Express serves over 1,000 passengers traveling to Mymensingh and Dhaka daily. Friday’s incident highlights severe mismanagement and a blatant lack of accountability at the station and leaving hundreds of commuters to needlessly suffer through the night.
