High-Profile Murder: Awami League Leader Stabbed to Death on Sylhet Home Rooftop

A prominent local political figure, Abdur Razzak (65), the Vice-President of the South Surma Upazila Awami League, was found stabbed to death at his home in Telirai village, Sylhet, on Friday morning.

Police recovered the bloodied body of Razzak, who was also the former general secretary of the Upazila Sports Association, from the staircase section leading to the roof between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM.

According to police, Razzak went to the roof after Fajr prayers. The Deputy Commissioner reported that the body sustained multiple stab wounds. The police noted that the house gate was locked and family members were inside at the time, adding a layer of mystery to the incident.

The body has been sent for postmortem, and the police have launched a full investigation to uncover the motive and cause behind the murder.
