Police rescued an adult Chitra deer from the banks of the Meghna River in Lalmohan, Bhola, on Saturday morning.
The animal was found near the Janata Bazar area in Dhaligaurnagar Union around 9:30 am. Locals spotted the deer appearing weak near an under-construction Water Development Board embankment. They alerted the Lalmohan Police Station, and officers, with the help of residents, safely secured the animal.
Authorities believe the deer drifted from a nearby reserved forest during high tide.
Lalmohan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aliul Islam confirmed the rescue, stating, "The deer is in stable condition but appears frightened. We are currently coordinating with the Forest Department to hand over the animal for its safe release back into the wild."
