Faridpur witnessed Eid-ul-Fitr prayers on Saturday despite inclement weather, as devotees gathered in large numbers across the district.
Light rain and cloudy skies marked the morning, but worshippers still attended Eid congregations at Eidgahs and mosques.
The main congregation was held at Chanmari Eidgah Maidan at 8:00am.
Due to the weather, many congregations were shifted from open Eidgah grounds to nearby mosques. Devotees attended prayers carrying umbrellas and wearing raincoats.
Special prayers were offered after the congregation, seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the country and its people.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Kamrul Hasan Molla said the turnout remained strong despite the rain. He expressed satisfaction that people could offer prayers together and called for unity and collective efforts toward national development.
Authorities implemented strict security measures across the district to maintain law and order during the celebrations.
Overall, Eid-ul-Fitr was observed in a peaceful and festive atmosphere in Faridpur, despite the adverse weather conditions.
