


A Hamd-Naat competition and Iftar Mahfil were organized by the Omargani M.E.S. College Ex Cadet Forum (OCECF) in Chattogram.
The event took place at 3:00 pm on March 6 at the auditorium of Omargani M.E.S. College. The programme began with a Hamd-Naat competition in which around 50 madrasa students participated.
Following the competition, an Iftar Mahfil was held with the participation of nearly 300 attendees. Among them were about 200 current and former cadets from the college’s Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) platoon, representing batches from 1966 to 2026.
After Iftar, prizes were awarded to the first, second and third-place winners of the Hamd-Naat competition. The awards were handed over by Maqsudur Rahman Russell, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Omargani M.E.S. College Ex-Cadet Forum.
The chief guest at the event was Barrister Mutasim Billah Farooqui, President of the College Governing Body and a member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Special guests included the college Principal A.N.M. Sarwar Alam and Vice Principal Mohammad Rezaul Karim Siddiqui.
The programme was chaired by S.M. Zulfikar Ali, President of the Ex-Cadet Forum, and moderated by Mustafa Kamal Manik.
Also present was Abu Naeem Mohammad Ibrahim Chowdhury, Platoon Under Officer (2/Lt.) of the Omargani M.E.S. College BNCC Platoon.
Other forum leaders attending the event included Standing Committee Chairman Maqsudur Rahman Russell, Secretary General Mizanur Rahman Sajib, Senior Vice President Ashikur Rahman Probal, and General Secretary ATM Kausar Habib, along with several members of the forum.
The organizing committee for the Iftar Mahfil was led by convener Newaz Uddin, joint convener Mohammad Harun Ur Rashid, and member secretary Naimul Islam Sadil. Other committee members included Nur Hossain Chowdhury, Nazia Mostafa, Ishita Akhter, and Mohammad Irfan Uddin Mia.
The programme concluded with a warm gathering of students, current cadets and alumni, highlighting community spirit and religious devotion during the holy month of Ramadan.
