A gas leak explosion in Narayanganj’s West Deobhog area on Friday evening damaged four houses and injured three people.

The blast occurred around 7:15 pm in a jute warehouse, causing the ground floor wall of a three-storey building to collapse. The injured—jute businessman Shipon, his employee Liton, and tenant Sogir—were first taken to Narayanganj Sadar Hospital and later sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

The explosion also damaged doors, windows, and walls of nearby buildings. Locals rushed to help the victims as the area shook from the blast.

Md Shahjahan, senior officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Mandalpara Station, said initial investigations suggest the explosion was caused by gas accumulating from a Titas Gas pipeline leak in the warehouse. Further investigation is underway.
