Steel Shed Inaugurated for Foreign Devotees at Tongi Bishwa Ijtema Ground

A new steel-structure shed has been inaugurated for foreign devotees at the Bishwa Ijtema Ground in Gazipur.

The shed was built with funding from Gazipur City Corporation to provide better accommodation and safety for international participants attending the annual Bishwa Ijtema.

The facility was formally inaugurated on Thursday afternoon by Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Commissioner of Dhaka Division, and Md. Shawkat Hossain Sarkar, Administrator of Gazipur City Corporation.

Officials from the city corporation and leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party were present at the ceremony.

According to Mohammad Habibullah Raihan, media coordinator of the organizing body Shuraye Nezam, the shed has been constructed mainly for devotees arriving from Arab countries. The aim is to ensure proper accommodation and a safer environment for foreign guests during the gathering.

Organisers said more such sheds may be built in the future to improve facilities for international participants.
